Gene Stratton-Porter (1863-1924) was Hoosier naturalist and author who was famous for her nature essays and novels. She was also noted for her photography and for being an early proponent of nature conservation. In her later years, she moved to California where she became one of the first female producers in Hollywood. The Gene Stratton-Porter digital collection contains photographs of the author and her family from her childhood through adulthood, as well as the images she took as a photographer.
